This trailhead  leads to the pinnacle of Putney Mountain,

where hawks, eagles and kestrels often circle and sometimes land,

... and where on a clear day you will see Monadnock, Mount Snow

and endless miles of Vermont peak foliage throughout the Connecticut River Valley
